Intuit - Innovation Catalyst

Build design thinking into Intuit’s DNA.

Intuit believes design thinking is the key driver of innovation. Investing in this belief, Intuit has trained a community of employees, the Innovation Catalysts, to serve as expert coaches in helping teams bring design thinking into their day-to-day activities. Innovation Catalysts build and maintain the culture that fosters engagement and encourages innovation – a culture where emotionally engaging products that people love can be created.

Coach teams on strategic development, problem solving, and innovation.

As an Innovation Catalyst, I have coached 100’s of cross-functional teams on design thinking, empathic practices, lean experimentation, and innovation. Working closely with teams, I unpack ambiguous problems spaces, design and facilitate workshops and research, and provide long-term coaching for managers and project leads. Interactive workshops include: unpacking problem spaces, lean start-up, rapid experimentation, human centered research and design, and community motivation.

Intuit is a Design Driven Company.

In 2014, Brad Smith, Intuit’s CEO, declared Intuit a design driven company as a result of the work of Innovation Catalysts. Work with catalysts has lead to multiple patents, new products, deep customer empathy and insights, faster and more meaningful decision-making, and tons of rapid experimentation.

When solving problems, traditional approaches tend to segment and objectify people within time and space. I adopt a more empathetic and holistic approach. I view all stakeholders as active participants in the process and I work with them to create sustainable systems that generate knowledge and foster adaptability.
